Year 4 Explore 3D Space

You are here

Last week, Year 4 students explored the wonderful world of 3D space through a hands-on and artistic approach. Using pipe cleaners, students carefully constructed models of cubes, pyramids, prisms, and other three-dimensional figures. This activity not only helped them understand the properties of these shapes—like faces, edges, and vertices—but also encouraged teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.

Year 4

To deepen their spatial thinking, students also experimented with isometric drawing. Using special isometric paper, they practised sketching their 3D shapes from different perspectives. It was a fun challenge that developed their visualisation skills and gave them a deeper appreciation of geometry in everyday life.

It’s been wonderful to see students combining creativity and maths to build and draw their own geometric masterpieces!
