Junior School Sports Update

NSW PSSA Primary Boys Hockey Championships

Congratulations to George S who recently competed at the NSW PSSA Boys Hockey Championships, representing NSW CIS.  This is an outstanding achievement, especially as George is only in Year 4.

Over three days of tough competition, the NSW CIS team worked hard to secure third place in their pool, demonstrating great skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament.

In the final crossover match, CIS played against the third-placed team from the opposing pool, a memorable game that included a special family connection, with his older brother playing on the opposing side. After a hard-fought match, the game ended in a draw, resulting in NSW CIS finishing an impressive 5th overall in the state.

Well done on a terrific tournament George! We are proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing what lies ahead in your hockey journey.

Year 3 - 6 Athletics Carnival

Our recent Year 3 - 6 Athletics Carnival was unfortunately unable to be completed due to heavy rain, with some field events deemed unsafe to proceed.  While this was disappointing for students and staff alike, the enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship shown on the day were fantastic.

All track events were successfully completed. In addition, several field events were finalised, with some excellent early results and strong performances across all age groups.

The remaining field events will be completed at the College during Term Two, with the date and time to be confirmed.

A big thank you to our Year 9 PASS class for their assistance with the field events and to our Sport Assistants who did a wonderful job supporting the carnival on the day. Your help was greatly appreciated and contributed to the smooth running of events.

Thank you to everyone for your flexibility, cooperation and positive attitude.  We look forward to finishing the carnival and celebrating all our athletes’ efforts and achievements.
