Sharing Joy Through Giving: Operation Christmas Child

Each year, our College community takes part in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, a heart-warming initiative that allows our students and families to make a real difference in the lives of children around the world. By packing a simple shoebox with gifts such as toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and something special to love, we help bring hope and joy to children who may otherwise go without at Christmas.

This project provides a meaningful way for our students to learn empathy, generosity, and gratitude. Through conversations at home and in class, children come to understand that not every child has the same opportunities or comforts they do. Packing a shoebox together becomes a powerful lesson in kindness, showing our students that small actions, when multiplied across communities, can have an extraordinary global impact.

For families, Operation Christmas Child offers a chance to serve together. Selecting and packing items as a family encourages thoughtful discussion about giving and reminds us all of the importance of compassion. It’s a tangible way to live out the College’s values and share the spirit of Christmas beyond our own community.

We are so thankful for the generosity of our families who support this important cause each year. Every shoebox is more than a collection of gifts, it’s a message of love, hope, and care sent from one child to another across the world.
