After our mid-term break on Monday we are now in the final weeks of the year. The Junior School continues to engage in excellent learning experiences for the students.
There was the excitement of Year 5 Camp last week and our Junior Ensembles Evening where an eager audience witnessed the joy and power of many musical groups shining with talent. Also, our Year 4 students recently performed their final band concert and it was a great celebration of growth and progress, as well as and moment of pride, for every learner after a year of developing skills on their instruments. Many of them blossoming into aspiring musicians.
Our Year 1 and 2 students have been full of energy as they head off each day for their swimming lessons. I love hearing their excitement as they come past my office window on their way to the bus, chatting and laughing with their friends. It is such a wonderful reminder of the joy that comes from all types of learning and shared experiences. A huge thank you to Mrs Evans for organising a large variety of sporting events and activities each year that benefit the students.
This week we also welcomed our newest little learners for our Prep Orientation. Our visitors were bubbling with wonder and excitement to see their new learning spaces and start ‘big school’ next year, especially those with older siblings already at the College. At the same time, our current Prep students are preparing for Kindy Orientation and our Year 6 students took their next big step at their Senior School Orientation. As they were walking around in small groups hosted on tours by senior students, it was a lovely full-circle moment for me that captured the journey from Prep to Year 12.

Our Dance Academy Concert was another highlight on Monday evening, with students showing incredible stamina and enthusiasm for their passion in the world of Dance. They spent a full day rehearsing and performing beautifully in the evening, returning bright and early the next morning ready for class.
We also held our Parent Community Network Thank You Morning Tea. It was an absolute delight to attend this cherished event each year where we celebrate the amazing parents who give their time to support students and staff across the College. Many first joined when their children were in Junior School and it has been great to see parents continue to help in the group even as they move into Senior School. From ordering and setting up gifts for the Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls, to assisting weekly with reading and art lessons, their dedication and generosity make such a difference. It a celebration of the powerful connection we experience that is centred around the children that make this a special time to pause, reflect and appreciate one another as a learning community. Some even slipped away from the morning tea early to ensure they were in their reading groups on time! I encourage everyone to consider signing up for the volunteers training next year and experience the joy of this uplifting group of parents and the meaningful activities they contribute that enrich the children’s learning, joy and journey at the College. Thank you to every volunteer for your contributions in 2025.

We are so thankful for the partnership we share with our families. The encouragement, generosity and care shown by our parent community continue to strengthen the life of the College and reflect the heart of who we are.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
