Our K-2 College garden continues to be a wonderful place for students to explore, discover and learn during break times. Students have the opportunity to get involved in a range of hands-on gardening activities, fostering a love of nature while developing responsibility and teamwork.
From uncovering centipedes, slaters, worms and grubs in our digging patch to planting seeds and watching them germinate, there is always something exciting happening in the garden. Students are actively involved in planting, watering, weeding and caring for our growing plants, taking great pride in helping the garden thrive.
Recently, a number of students designed and created signs to let others know where they can and cannot dig, helping to protect our newly sprouted seedlings. It has been wonderful to see them take ownership of the space and work together to care for it.
We look forward to watching our garden continue to grow over the coming months. One of the greatest joys is seeing the excitement and curiosity of our students as they tend to the garden, care for living things and make new discoveries each week.
