Despite the wet weather and necessary adjustments to our Athletics Carnival program, I was incredibly proud of the way our students demonstrated flexibility, resilience and a positive attitude throughout the day. Rather than focusing on what could not occur, students embraced the opportunities available to them, encouraged one another and participated enthusiastically in events. It was wonderful to witness students striving for personal bests and displaying excellent sportsmanship. We look forward to completing the remaining field events over the coming weeks and celebrating the continued efforts of our students.

One of the great joys of Junior School life is seeing classes begin each day grounded in devotion and prayer. As a proudly Christian College, our teachers seek to teach and nurture students through a Christian worldview, encouraging children not only in their academic growth but also in their character, faith and understanding of God’s love for them. It has been especially encouraging to see our Jesus and Me (JAM) and Junior JAM groups continue to grow. Our JAM leaders are enthusiastic about establishing a Stage 1 group in the near future, certainly an exciting development for our younger students. Watch this space!

Later this term, students in Years 4, 5, and 6 will participate in the ‘Amazing Me’ program presented by Ms Rowena Thomas, alongside a Stage 3 parent and child information evening. As students move toward their senior years of schooling, they naturally begin to ask important questions about personal growth, relationships, wellbeing and the changes that come with adolescence. For many years, our College has valued the opportunity to offer ‘Amazing Me’ to our upper Junior School students and families. These sessions aim to provide students with accurate information in a safe, respectful and age-appropriate environment, while also helping families begin meaningful conversations around personal development,  boundaries and other sensitive topics through a Christian worldview. These discussions can sometimes feel awkward or daunting for both children and parents; however, ‘Amazing Me’ seeks to foster open communication, so students feel informed, supported and comfortable asking questions. Many families have shared how valuable it is for the College to partner with them in navigating these important stages of development. I look forward to seeing Stage 3 families at this evening.
