As the year is coming to an end there has been plenty of excitement in the air. Year 6 students have been enjoying their final weeks in the Junior School and were able to mark this milestone with a special Year 6 Ceremony, Year 6 Dinner and Aquatopia Excursion. Then there are our littlest learners who have finished their very first year at the College and are confident for the years ahead. Also, last Friday we welcomed new 2026 students for a visit during our ‘Moving Up’ day where everyone spent some time in their new grade building for next year. I was so impressed with the welcoming spirit of our students.

It is also a special end of year for me and my family. As you may know, I will be taking maternity leave during 2026. I’ve been cherishing the conversations I’ve had with so many Junior school students knowing they will all be a year older when I return! I will miss them all and I look forward to seeing you again in 2027.
2026 class allocations will be shared with you in the coming days. We will send a broadcast out to families with instructions on how to access this information through the Parent Portal. I would like to reassure you that we consider very carefully the placement of every student in classes. I also wanted to share with you that next year we are naming classes in a new way. Each class will be named after a different colour: Red, Blue, White, Purple or Yellow. We have typically named classes after the initial of the teacher’s last name such as 4A or 6K. However, I have found that this can be tricky when multiple teachers have the same initials. We currently name Prep classes in these colours and are trialling this across Junior School next year. You will see the new class colour naming reflected when you look in the Parent Portal later this week. I have had the opportunity to share this exciting new change with the students at our Morning Muster so they are ready for this in the new year ahead.
Have a blessed Christmas break over the holiday period. It is a wonderful season to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ. I shared with the students at our last Friday Morning Muster that ‘Christmas’ has the word ‘Christ’ in it! It is a time to reflect on the joy of Christ being born into our world, who then grew up to bring us salvation through the sacrifice of himself on the Cross and rose again in glory. A merry Christmas to you all.
Mary gave birth to her firstborn son and laid Him in a manger.
Shepherds were nearby in the fields.
An angel appeared, and the glory of the Lord shone around them.
The angel said:
“Do not be afraid. A Savior has been born to you
the Messiah, the Lord.
You will find Him wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
- Luke 2:7-12
