Welcome back to Term 3 and to what will be another fantastic term of sport!

For those that might not know me, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is David Tomich and I’ll be acting as the Senior School Sports Coordinator while Mrs Irene Focas is on Maternity leave. This is my second year at the College and one of the things that I’ve enjoyed in my time at Thomas Hassall Anglican College so far, is seeing students live out their passion for sport in a competitive environment. My involvement to date has predominately been with the Football teams, however I’m very much looking forward to working with staff, students and families to support them and provide opportunities in a wide range of sports at the college. We have students participating in the MISA Golf Tournament later this term, something that both the students involved, as well as myself, are very excited about!

Whilst we have had many sporting successes at the college, we also have many high level athletes that are achieving outside of school as well. Parents and students, please continue to share these achievements with us by speaking with me or emailing me at [email protected]. We’d love to celebrate your hard earned successes.

On that note, in the holidays:

Elijah W - Year 10

Elijah competed in the Australian National Gymnastics Championships. As a well-rounded gymnast, Elijah competed in all apparatus. He placed second in Vault and 6th Overall. Congratulations on this amazing achievement and we are looking forward to following your journey in elite sport.

Lazar V - Year 7

Congratulations to Lazar who has been selected by Basketball NSW to be part of their Talented Athlete Program (TAP)

TAP is a specialist junior talent development program conducted by Basketball NSW. TAP targets the State’s best junior school-age athletes and incorporates both athletic and academic opportunities for athletes. Lazar will attend the NSW U13 Talented Athlete Program (TAP) camp. The camp will be held at the Penrith Valley Regional Sport’s Centre from the 11 – 13 August. We wish Lazar well and look forward to following his progress.
